10,000 Visitors--and a Miniature Bear Giveaway!

The Queen of Fifty Cents reached a milestone yesterday--our 10,000th visitor stopped by! When I started this adventure back at the end of March I had no idea if anyone would ever read it. Receiving your comments and visiting your blogs has been so much fun, and I love knowing there is a world-wide community of folks who appreciate the quirky wonder of second-hand shopping. My statistics program includes a world map showing where you have visited from, and I've been amazed at how far my words have reached--and how near. Thank you all.

I've been planning to do a series of giveaways in the new year, and this seems like the perfect place to start. The prize? This 3.5" teddy (dated 1986) made by Geri's Bears.

Yes, of course I found it at a yard sale!

What do you have to do to win? As you know, this blog is all about stories, and that's what I want from you! See the tiny gold wishbone charm on Bear's chest?

Leave a comment saying what you think this bear is wishing for. Bear and I will confer and choose our favorite. Deadline: this Sunday, January 4, 1 pm PST. We can't wait to see what wishes you come up with!

  1. What fun! I think the little bear is wishing that he could be made into a REAL bear, just like the Velveteen Rabbit!! Or maybe he's wishing that he had some clothes so he wouldn't be nekkid, or maybe, hmmm..., I don't know..world peace?

  2. Though I am not eligable for the contest, I think he's wishing to ride on someone's dashboard to sniff out good garage sales!

  3. Little Bear is wondering or wishing what he could do to help children that are waiting in orphanages or foster homes to get out and belong somewhere. He has been reading many blogs lately of families adopting bunches of kids from all over the world and wondering if maybe he is too old to help in some way. Perhaps someone will win him and give him to a child that didn't receive any gifts this year and who are still waiting for someone to take them home. Maybe that lady in Atlanta, Georgia would give him to a sweet child and perhaps he could do some good even if he is old. Maybe if he crosses his fingers!

  4. I think "Little Bear" is wishing for a little boy or girl to hold and cuddle him. He was rescued and now he wants to give back by being a comfort to a child that might be lonely, hurting, scared or just plain needs a "bear hug". He really hopes that this child, be it a boy or girl, GIVES really good "bear hugs" as well because Little Bear likes getting them just as much as he likes giving them.
