Five days after my face-first tumble downhill…and my owies are almost completely gone.
Kind of annoying, actually. I was planning some really good stories about the black eye that I was sure would appear. And not a vestige of a shiner. Is that fair? In fact, the thing that has hurt the most was my little finger! Lost a chunk of skin from the tip, and it turns out you use your little fingertip quite often. But even that is almost healed.
I’m not really complaining, you understand. I confess to having indulged in imagining a number of could-have-beens and they were not pretty. I’m truly very grateful.
So to celebrate, let’s have another book giveaway! Same as last time – paperback copies of my first two books. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post (preferably an entertaining one, but we’re easily entertained).
The drawing will be – when else? – April Fool’s Day!
Love your dog mysteries. When is another coming out?
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it! Only partway through but one of these days...
Deleteyou are the queen of fifty cents, but i am the queen of overpaying lol. Bought something that was .12 and paid a dollar for it. hope this was entertaining lol
ReplyDeleteNow I'm dying to know what could have been .12! Guess you went reverse-thrifting.
DeleteSo glad you're doing better. Thanks from the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI DID get a black eye when I fell and hit my face. My first black eye and everyone wanted to know if my husband of 12 years had hit me. (rude, much?) We were shopping for my boss's (is that correct or is it bosses?) Christmas present when I tripped and fell. I couldn't tell my co-workers the story until our boss had opened his gift. I would love to win your book!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, good story! And yes, boss's is correct...unless you were shopping for more than one boss in which case it would be bosses'.
DeleteThere endeth the grammar lesson for today!
Love your weekly stories and am so thankful you share them! I of course would LOVE to win and that's no joke (get it, no joke on April Fool's day?-har har!) . . . . .
ReplyDeleteAw shucks, thanks!
DeleteHappy to hear that you've survived and live to tell another tale! Or is it tail? In your case, I guess it's both! So get busy on that next book!
ReplyDeleteWith you on my tail...er, trail!...guess I'd better write faster!
DeleteGlad to hear there are no lasting injuries from your fall. Storm and Trooper would be happy to be your guide dogs as long as you take a ball with you.
ReplyDeleteSheryl
What great names! But Zoe would be jealous, since my job is to carry her ball with me!
DeleteCount me in, I fell on my face once (at least) and got 2 really good black eyes. Are you jealous!
ReplyDeleteVery jealous! Oh the stories I could have told!
DeleteMy boss looked at my face and didnt know what to say, I had to tell him I fell flat on my face!!!
DeleteHey Sarah - You won...but I can't figure out how to contact you! Please email me via my profile page so I can send your prize.
DeleteGlad your shiner is gone and you are "good as new"! :)
