There was not a snowball’s chance in you-know-where this weekend for a single estate sale or moving sale or garage sale or even a thrift store visit. There was however PLENTY of snowball-making material.
Our part of Oregon is much more about rain. Last year we didn’t get any snow at all. We just made up for it. My niece is referring to this weekend as ‘snowpocalypse.’
Since we are cozy and warm at home with food and firewood on hand, we enjoyed the spectacle of two days of snowfall. We’ll doubtless be here a few more days until streets become driveable again.
Hmmm. I’ve never bought a snowglobe before last week’s giant-beaver-at-the-state-capitol version.
Most likely it’s not a magical snowglobe and shaking it didn’t bring on this storm…but I think I’ll leave it sitting quietly on the shelf for a while!
Best NOT to take ANY chances with the giant beaver snowglobe! LOL In fact, if it were me, I'd probably be throwing it out with the trash ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI'm too afraid of what might happen as it's shaken around by the garbage truck!
Deleteso pretty with all the snow...as long as you are cozy and warm and with power inside! Oldest son and family are right in the path of the Mega ice storm coming through the South, and they are stocking up their wood for back-up heating! Down here, my daffodils are starting to bloom....
ReplyDeleteI'll take snow over ice any day! And for what it's worth, my crocuses started blooming a couple of weeks ago and there are buds on some of the daffs, so spring is a-comin'!
DeleteLucky you, the snow is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably even luckier that it's all melted by now! But I sure did enjoy it.
DeleteLooks like the bunny is taking the measure of the snow accumulation!
ReplyDeleteYou made me chuckle...because that was exactly how I kept track of how much it was snowing! Bunny was in pretty deep by the time it stopped. Sophie & Tootsie would have been making dachshund tunnels!
